Friday’s Trick – Schedule Emails Using Boomerang
Do you ever need to schedule an email to send in the future? I often find myself glad I found that cool little browser extension.
Boomerang is the perfect service to schedule future emails. With Boomerang, you can write an email now and schedule it to be sent automatically at the perfect time.
First you need to install a browser plugin for either Firefox or Chrome. Once installed just write the message as you normally would, then click the “Send Later” button.
They have a clever calendar picker and an intuitive text box that understands language like “next Monday” to tell Boomerang when to send your message.
I have used then when I was burning the midnight oil and did not want a client to know I was up at 3 AM. (Opps… the secret is now out… I don’t really wake up and send emails at 7:27 AM!)
I have had some trouble sending emails with images embedded in them. Thus if you need to send an important email that has embedded images in it, you may not want to use Boomerang.

PS: They have a version that works with Microsoft Outlook if you are too cool for Gmail.
